How candela writes a float: with a decimal point or an exponent, so a whole
float reads as a float rather than as an int. An infinity and a
not-a-number have no such form and print as themselves.
The hash a pooled string is filed under as a map key: 64-bit FNV-1a over
its bytes. A map key keeps it in the value, and a .cdlb records the key
with it, so it has to come out the same on every machine and in every
build.
